Operation

"Sea Lift 3" employs electronic radio data controls over hydraulic for all barge jacking operations. "Sea Lift 3" in its standard configuration has four spuds of 12m or 18m or 30m. The spuds are located in each corner of the barge. Five normally aspirated diesel power packs provide hydraulic pressure for all barge operations, including the 8tonne meter deck crane. Operational hydraulic power redundancy is provided via the crane power pack which can be relocated to replace a failed hydraulic supply. A mobile control panel, linked by radio data link, enables the operator to easily sight all operations.

Electronic sensors provide the operator with status indications of all jacking operations at the control panel and electronic interlocks prevent any inadvertent operation at the spud control.
