Operation
"Sea Lift 4" employs electric over hydraulic controls for all barge operations. "Sea Lift 4" in standard configuration has four 36 m spuds, one in each corner. A central generator provides electric power to two electric hydraulic pumps, which generate hydraulic pressure for barge operations. A mobile control panel, linked by radio data link to the control unit, enables the operator to easily sight all operations
Electronic sensors provide the operator with status indications at the control panel and electronic interlocks prevent inadvertent operation at the spud control. All of the hydraulic supply lines, valve banks and control systems that operate "Sea Lift 4" are located below deck to minimise the risk of both environmental and mechanical damage.
