Operation
“Sea Cat” has been developed as the support vessel for Sea Lift 1. Sea Cat provides safe crew access to and from Sea Lift as well as limited relocation services between investigation locations.
During steady sea states, the side doors of Sea Cat provide direct walk on access to the access gangway alongside sea lift. During heavier sea states, Sea Cat provides a stable access platform onto the Sea Lift’s crane operated billy pugh (personnel transfer system).
Returning to base in late afternoon chop is a calm and smooth ride thanks to Sea Cat’s catamaran hull. The full suite of navigational support equipment: GPS, radar and depth sounders, provides optimum safety for the crew and operations.
